One of the big reasons we go to a conference is for the networking opportunities. Without those opportunities, it is a lot like the information that comes out of SXSW after the conference is over. If someone can come up with a way to buy a round of drinks at an online conference they'll really have something. On the other hand I just can't justify the cost of one of the big conferences, and since I'm self employed I can't sell it to the boss either. I'd like to hear more.
